Kat Von D MetalMatte Eyeshadow Palette & Swatches

OK! So ... who went crazy during the Sephora VIB 20% off sale?! (*slowly raises hand*)

I will be posting a haul video soon on my channel, but while my child is napping I thought I would take this opportunity to show you how b-e-a-Utiful this new KVD MetalMatte eyeshadow palette is...

First off - How stunning is this packaging though!? I love how Kat personally creates all of the packaging for her brand. If you haven't picked up on it - the name is an ambigram. It reads "Metal" one way, and if you flip it upside down it reads "Matte" - pretty cool eh? Last year I bought the Mi Vida Loca Remix Eyeshadow palette (packaging also beautiful) and that did not disappoint. I just LOVE bright colors, and I love to rock a bolder eye look. This year in my opinion this palette is much more wearable for the average person. There are actually quite a few neutrals in there!

What realllly attracted me to this palette was that the metallic shadows are supposed to be in KVD's Metal Crush Eyeshadow formula (R.I.P. Thunderstruck) - which are insanely pigmented and creamy. So of course.. I had to have it - am I right!?

I just can't wait any longer to dig my hands in it - so here are some swatches! Just to give you an idea of how fair I am, I am about an NW15 in MAC standards.

Here, i've swatched the 9 metal shadows. My first impressions? The metal shadows are extremely pigmented and creamy, just like the metal crush shadows I know and love. They swatch effortlessly. From left to right: Nebula (metallic navy), Watt (metallic teal), Ignite (metallic seafoam), Tinsel (metallic pewter), Glitz (metallic rose gold), Twinkle (metallic lilac), Volt (metallic violet), Synergy (metallic bronze) &         Flash (metallic gold).

Now onto the glorious mattes!! Overall I am quite impressed, there are a couple that did not swatch as well as i'd hoped (mainly ribbon), but I'm sure with some primer they would be quite workable. From left to right: Linen (matte white), Jet (matte black), Velour (matte royal blue), Stone (matte cement gray), Moss (matte forest green), Ribbon (matte deep purple), Silk (matte terra cotta), Fringe (matte peach), Feather (matte dandelion yellow), Oak (matte chocolate brown), Suede (matte fawn), Bone (matte cream) & Velvet (matte deep plum).

I can't wait to have some fun with this palette and create some different looks. It also comes with a tutorial insert with 3 different looks, I had a lot of fun with that last year. I'm so happy I got my hands on this. As far as I know it's sold out on Sephora online, but you may still be able to get your hands on it in some stores.

Did you guys get your hands on this beauty?
